Scarlett died last week. She came to live with us a few days after my dad died. That was almost 10 years ago. The vet thought she was some where between 1 and 2 years old.

For the past few years, I didn't live with her. I moved away for graduate school. I think I was secretly glad to go, I knew she was getting older and I didn't want to see...

I had so many names for her. Harlot. Nonie. Fancy Britches. Rabbit. She was my friend. She was my family.

There was this freaky movie on Friday night/Saturday morning that involved a Frankenstein like character who had a cross-dressing father and an 80's fashionista girlfriend that featured Steve Austin 6 Million Dollar Man type sound effects. They lived in a crystal pyramid. I have no idea what channel it was. My only clue is the one line I remember, "all we need now is an ape."

If anyone has any idea what this movie is, I would be grateful.

It was fantastic. Everyone that had confirmed their attendance showed up. The cake was beautiful. Three tiered sky blue fondant cake with white scroll work, decorated in gorgeous yellow roses. The decorations were great. She cried. It was a great night. I'm glad it came together for her.

Some days are unbearable.

Did you ever notice that some people seem to be addicted to falling in love over and over again? While they may truly have a natural propensity to exult in the beauty of a great variety of their fellow humans, I also suspect that their addiction serves as an excuse for them to fall in love with themselves over and over again. At least in part, each new romantic partner is a pawn in their strategy for coming back home to themselves. Here's what I'm inclined to ask these people: Why not simply eliminate the middleman or middlewoman?

After my long silence here in LJ land, I have returned. I don't expect to have many readers left. Oh well, tis life. Without further ado, I offer the following tid-bit. I found this today and decided to share.
